Giordano Fellowships

About

Giordano Fellowships support young pathologists and residents in their last year to get insight and hands-on training into a specialized field (such as nephropathology) at internationally recognized training centres. As a fellow, you will receive a stipend of up to € 1’500 for up to 3 months. We think that this is a great way to improve your diagnostic and scientific skills and also learn, how nephropathology is done outside of your home institution. Applications are competitive, the application deadline is usually at the end of June of each year, and fellowships will be awareded at the European Congresses of Pathology.

The fellowship is named after Alfonso Giordano, a pathologist from Milano/Italy, who was one of the founders of the European Society of Pathology and its first secretary.

Who Can Apply?

There are several requirements to qualify for an application:

  1. You have to be a member  of the European Society of Pathology for at least three consecutive years!
  2. You have finished your training or are in the last year of residency.
  3. You are fluent in English or the language used at the training centre.
  4. Your are less than 40 years old.
  5. You currently work at a centre of national reputation and are involved in teaching and research.

The idea is that you will further disseminate the knowledge and experience learned to your home institution and country.
